We left Friday evening when Chris got off work. As soon as we hit I35 it started raining and I was driving. I love my husband and trust him with my life, but when it come to driving and bad weather I don't' do so well unless I am the one driving. Our drive was suppose to take only 3 1/2 hours. But with the weather and darkness and stopping for food and potty breaks. It took us about 5 hours. We got to the hotel about 11:00 that night. Thankfully Nana and Papo were already there and had our room set up for us. So as soon as we unloaded we hit the sack.
Saturday, Chris and Papo met up with Uncle Travis and his future Father in-law for a round of golf. While Nana, the kids and I went shopping and met up with Brittany and her little sister. Soon it was time to head back to the hotel to change and drop the kids off with Daddy, so Nana and I could meet Brittany and the other bridesmaids to shop for bridesmaid dresses. Brittany didn't care if the dresses were all the same, just the same color. But we all liked the same dress. After that, we had some time before dinner, so we headed back to the hotel to check on the boys and see what they had been up too. For dinner that night we went to BJ's brewhouse. The kids had a great time visiting with Brittany's brother and sister since they are the same age as the boys and will all be in the wedding.
On Monday, we woke up and got all our stuff packed up. Before we checked out we all loaded up and took Nana and Papo up to the airport to our favorite spot to watch airplanes. It was kind of windy and over casted, but the boys had such a great time watching the airplanes. After watching for a while we started to head back with while doing a little site seeing of Cowboy stadium and where the Texas Rangers play. Soon it was time to head back to the hotel to pack up our car and check out.
Once we were all loaded with headed to meet Uncle Travis and Aunt Brittany for lunch, before starting our trip back home. We went to a restaurant called "Our Place." They had such good food and amazing pies. We almost made it through our lunch with out any accidents, but when Aunt Brittany went to stand up MaKinley grabbed her tea glass and spilled it all over them. Poor Aunt Brittany!! She is going to have to learn to be faster with MaKinley. Soon we said our good byes and we were on our way home.
On the way home we stopped in West at the Czech Stop for some Kolaches and a potty break. A while back Ryan asked if the stuff we had donated every made it to the people of the explosion. So we thought it would be good to show him where it happened and all the damage from it. It was very sad to see all the damage and exactly how many blocks and houses it affected.
Once on the road again we decided to call up our favorite Soldier Uncle Bryan and see if him and Sarah were home, since it was Memorial Day what better way to end the day. Since they just got married and the beginning of the month and moved into their new house and we were up in the area. Thankfully they had no plans, so we were able to stop by and visit and have dinner. The boys and MaKinley had such a great time. The boys and Sarah had Nerf gun wars and Uncle Bryan brought out his guitar and even gave Zach a lesson. Before we knew it it was time to head home. I think we got home around midnight.
While our weekend was a long one, we had a great time and made some great memories!!
