This past week my beautiful niece turned 8. I can not believe how fast time has gone by. When Chris and I started dating his sister was pregnant with Maddy and now here we are 8 years later. She is going up to be such a beautiful person inside and out. I can not wait to see what life has in store for her.
Happy Birthday Maddy!!! We love you to pieces!
Here are some pics from her part this past Sunday.

Just Grillin' and Chillin'
Last night for dinner we threw some chicken on the grill. So I decided to do a little BBQ dinner with just us outside and then I planned a special dessert. It was very hot, even waiting till after 7 o'clock to eat, but the boys loved it. They even loved their special dessert.
Here are some pics. It was nice having some special family time since, things have not really slowed down since we have been back from vacation.

As you can see, we got a little carried away with dessert. But the boys loved it and we created some great memories.

Hand, Foot and Mouth disease
As you read from the vacation post, both boys came down with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Here are some pictures of what it looks like and what we were dealing with. Zach had it the worst. I just hope it heals soon. I feel so bad for these little guys.

South Padre Day 4
So it seem Ryan could not escape the Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Last night, around 2 he woke up crying wanting to go home. So I let him crawl in our bed thinking he would go back to sleep. Not so much. He kept tossing and turning and itching his feet. So we got up and went into the bathroom, sure enought he had spot on his feet and a few on his hands. So I rubbed him with cortizone cream and gave him some ibropfen. I took about and hour for the medicine to kick in and he fell back a sleep and so did we.
I got up a 6:30 and got dressed and had gotten Ryan up too. We were leaving today and had to be out of the condo by 10. So I decided while everyone was loading up that I would take Ryan down to the clinic and get him checked out. The clinic opened at 8:30, so I was hoping to get there early and get seen and get back before 10.
Once we got to the clinic there was already a line outside waiting. Thankfully not to many though. Once we got inside and got checked in, I explained our situation about leaving and they were able to get us in and out. I have to say, for not being from around there, they treated up very nice and I will definatly go back there if we ever have too.
Ryan definatly had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease, but he also had a double ear infection. So after leaving the clinic we dropped off his prescriptions and head to the condo to hook-up to the trailer and pick everyone else up.
Once we were all loaded we headed over to the Sea Turtle rescue center to look at the turtle's before hitting the road. The kids really enjoyed the turtle's and seeing all the different sizes.
I have to say that even with all the bumps we had through out the week. We really had a great time and are already looking forward to next years trip.
South Padre Day 3, Part 2
After spending the day on the beach, we all headed back to the condo to shower and get ready for a night out.
For dinner, we headed to Blackbeards for some yummy food. The boys behave great and enjoyed their food a lot. Chris had told the waitress it was my birthday, even though it wasn't, and she brought out an ice cream sandwhich and they sang Happy Birhtday. The kids got a kick out of it and then I divided my sandwhich up so they could all get a piece.
After dinner, we head over to Port Isabelle to take some pictures by the light house. Trying to take pictures after being on the beach all day was very trying and frustrating, but I think we got a few good shots. The kids really had fun running up and down the big hill.
Once we were all down with the light house, we headed back to the island for some DQ ice cream and then back to the condo to get ready to go crab hunting. Ryan had so much fun looking for crabs. Chris had stayed back at the condo with Zach to put him to bed since he had not been sleeping well at night.
I love this picture of Ry!
Our big crab
After hunting for crabs, we headed back to the condo to go to bed and to start packig up, since we were leaving the next day. As I said in part 1, this was the best day of vacation by far. No one was grouchy or hurting and we all had a great time.
