Snowed In Day 2

 Snowed In Day 2

We survived the night all in one room!!! I don't think I got even one solid hour of sleep. We still had rolling black outs, one hour on to one hour off. Every time the electricity would come on the alarm panel would beep and I would have to get up and put the code in 3 different time for it to stop beeping.

Thankfully, I had my energize to help get me up and going. At some point in the morning I got all the bedding picked up and was also able to get my workout downloaded to my iPad so I could workout even if the electricity was out.

Since last night was the coldest night, most of the snow was not frozen. I am pretty sure the kids are over it now. They were not even excited to go out and play in it till the afternoon. We spent most of the day playing games and trying to keep busy to help pass the time.

In the evening we would turn on the generator so we could have lights downstairs and the little heaters on in our room when the electricity would go out. At some point in the evening, post started to pop up about the city starting to have water issues and to fill tubs and pot up with water to have to drink and flush potties. So we filled both tubs and what ever jugs we could find with water. We then settled in for a game of uno in our room, since the kids would be camping out another night in there.

I have to say all our camping and scouting skills are sure coming in handy through this.

God Bless Grant!!

This past Sunday we had the honor to attend Baby Grant's baptism. Chris also had the greatest honor of being his Godfather. It was such a nice service and we were so glad to be a part of it.  After the service we already to McAdoo's for brunch and to visit with each other.

We consider this little guy a nephew in our family and can not wait to watch him grow and learn to love Jesus!!!

Grant Michael is here!!!!

I am so excited to say that our newest nephew is here!!!! Uncle Bryan and Aunt Sarah welcomed him yesterday evening.

Grant Michael was born at 6:48 pm on February 12, 2014!! He weighted 8 lbs 10 oz. and was 22 inch's. Mommy and Daddy are doing great and I can 't not wait to go see them and snuggle that little boy. He is just prefect and I think looks just like his daddy.

I know some are probably wandering how he is our nephew and who Uncle Bryan and Aunt Sarah are. I know I have talked about them in past post but have never really said why we call them Aunt and Uncle when we are not really related.

Well, Chris and Bryan go way back to be being friends since grade school. I am not sure of the exact history, but I do know they did Boy Scouts together. Then in college Bryan was in the Corp of Cadets and while doing summer school he lived with us. Since then, he was been a big part of our lives. Bryan is an only child, so he kind of adopted us as his brother and sister and us the same. He has been here for all the big moments in our lives from being part of our wedding party, to being such a good Uncle to our kids.

We have spent many holidays together and have been there for him several time when he has left to go off to war and then been there to welcome him back home. Last year, Uncle Bryan married Sarah and we were so blessed to part of their special day, with Chris being a groomsman and both boys being ring bears. Over the past year, both Uncle Bryan and Aunt Sarah have been part of our lives and now we all get to be part of Grant's life and watch them all grow as a family.
