On Christmas eve, we spent the morning making M&M cookies for Santa, before Nana and Papo arrived.
Usually we make sugar cookie cut outs and decorate them, but with just moving into the new house we did not have a lot of time. Zach decided that he want to be my helper this time. He was such a good helper. It was nice to get to spend a little one on one time with him. I think he really enjoyed helping too, especially since he got to like the beater!!

A cookie attempt
On Sunday, the kids and I hung out at the house all day. Chris had to work and with being gone the past couple of nights and running errands all week, it was nice to just hang out. Since Monday was the 4th of July, I thought we would make some flag and star cookies and decorate them. Ryan had such a good time helping, but the dough did not turn out and was too soft. So after about the third batch of trying to roll out and cut out we quite.
Ry still had fun and it was a good bonding time for us. He really love to help in the kitchen, we just have to continue to work on his listening skills. He like to be very independent.

Just Grillin' and Chillin'
Last night for dinner we threw some chicken on the grill. So I decided to do a little BBQ dinner with just us outside and then I planned a special dessert. It was very hot, even waiting till after 7 o'clock to eat, but the boys loved it. They even loved their special dessert.
Here are some pics. It was nice having some special family time since, things have not really slowed down since we have been back from vacation.

As you can see, we got a little carried away with dessert. But the boys loved it and we created some great memories.

Playing with Food
A while back I saw on a friends blog a post about her little boy painting with peanut butter. I am always looking for new things to do with the boys. So I thought I would give it a shot during snack time. I did not let Zach do any painting, but he did enjoys some peanut butter crackers.
Ryan was not to sure at first, because I have always been a stickler when it come to playing with his food or eating with his hands. But once I told him it was OK, just this time, I think he really enjoyed it. I am hoping to spread my wings a little more and just bit the bullet when it come to messes.
That night for dinner we made homemade pizza's. The boys had fun making each their own. I even had Zach stand on a stool to held. Sorry not pics, I wasn't about to leave his side. They turned out very yummy. Ryan even ate all his up, which is rare for him to finish a meal.
