Camping and Mother's Day

Day 1 Thrusday: So for Mother's Day we went camping for the first time as a family of 4. We had a blast!!! We had been invited my Mel and Mike and Mel's family to join them camping down in breckenrigde plantation in Edna, TX. The only problem was that we did not own a camper. So I did what anyone one does these days...posted it on facebook that I was looking to barrow or rent a camper for a weekend. That is when Amy came to the rescue and said that her dad had one and would probably let us barrow it. So started the works of texting and calling to find out if we could. And thanks to the Drapela's we had us a camper for the weekend. We decided to go down a day before eveyone else so we could have some family time and enjoy our time there. Here is how our first day went: We arrived at the camp grounds around 3:00 pm to check in. After checking in and setting up, I unloaded everything and got organized. I have totally become OCD about being organzied when we go places and do things. Sometimes it is good and sometimes not. After getting organized, we took the boys to the playground that was right by our site. Ry loved it that he could ride is bike to and from the playground. After the play ground we went back to start on dinner. We made sausage, potatoes and green beans in the skillet. It was so yummy. After dinner it was bath and to bed, so we could be well rested for another fun day of camping. DAY 2 Friday: After a good night sleep, we woke up to a turtle outside. It was neat to see, but Ry had a hard time sitting still and being quite. So the turtle never really came out of it shell. So after watching him for a while and trying to feed him so lettuce, we went inside for some breakfast and to get ready for the day. As for the turtle, lets just says as soon as he felt safe he high tailed it to the water.
After breakfast and everything was cleaned up Ryan an Daddy went fishing and to play on the playground, while I hung back with Zach while he took his morning nap. After Zach woke up we joined them down at the playground. The boys had a blast, espeically Ry!! Before we knew it, it was lunch and nap time. While the boys took a nap Chris and I set up the swimming pool for the kids to play in over the weekend. And then Chris decided he want to setup the canopy and hang the crawfish party lights. He was so excited to set up them lights. Then it was our turn to relax for a while till the boys woke up from there naps. After naps we went to playground again and then for a walk around the campground. Soon everyone else slowly started to show up and it was time to cook dinner. We had an awesome time visiting with the Jordan's, the Porter's and all the Merta's. Ry was so excited when Abby showed up and he had his girlfriend to play with. They were so cute together. After dinner and the kids were in bed asleep, us adults got to visit for a while and then we all turned in for a good night sleep to prepare for another fun day.
DAY 3 Saturday:
On day 3, Uncle Travis and Brittany, and Nana and Papo came to visit for the day. The kids had so much fun playing and hanging out. They flew kites, rode bikes, went to the playground, played putt putt golf and even swam. Later that night after dinner we made smores. This was Ry's first smore and he really enjoyed it. As for the adults we had a good time playing with the kids and sitting around visiting. It was a really nice weekend. By the end of the day everyone was so tired.
Day 4 Sunday:
Happy Mothers Day!! On Sunday we woke up and Chris made breakfast for me. The boys and Daddy had gotten me a card and some chocolate strawbeeries. After breakfast, Uncle Travis and Brittany took Ry back to El Campo with them so we could pack up the camper and head there also. After getting to El Campo, my Daddy had made lunch for everyone. It was nice to get to spend Mother's day with my mom. After lunch we took the camper back the the Drapela's and then picked up the kids and headed home.
This was the best Mother's day yet. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I love you all.

WCYF

Every year I try and make down to El Campo to take the boys to the fair. We have one in New Braunfels in September, but always seem to be busy and never make it. So I always try to make a good attempt to go in El Campo. This year there were some first for us. It was the first time Zach had been to a fair and the first time Ry got to see bull riding and ride the Carnival rides. He loved it. At one point during the bull riding he put down his cup and started clapping and saying, "Go Bull Go." It was super cute. Here are some pics from the fair.

Ryan 2 1/2 years old

I can't believe that Ry is already 2 1/2 years old. Where did the time go? He amazes me everyday with his conversations and his pretending. He is your typical little boy. He is into planes, trucks, trains, and tractors. He loves pretend he is hunting for rabbits and deer all the time. He even tries to get Zach to play along. He is an awesome big brother to Zach, showing him how to do things or even just playing with him. He also love to do arts and crafts. He is really into cutting and drawing. He takes after his Nana, by always wanting to read. He will not let you forget to read a story before bedtime. He is half way potty trained. By half way, I mean he will tee tee in the potty, but not poop. But hey a little at a time. I am so proud that he has accomplished that much already. He loves to play outside and help daddy in the yard. He is just a well rounded little guy. He also knows no stranger, kindof like his Papo and Pawpaw. He will strike a converstaion with anyone. Well I think that about covers Mr. Ryan. He is an awesome little boy and I can not wait to see that the rest of the year will bring. Here are some pics from the first half of the year. I hope you enjoy!
