Happy Birthday Sophie!!

This past weekend we head up to Katy to help celebrate Sophie's 2nd Birthday. Beofre the party, we head to Katy Mills Mall where, I finally did a little shopping for MaKinley. I have been trying to hold off on shopping, so this was the first time to buy her some clothes. I have to say that I am very proud of myself that I did not go overboard. While I was shopping the boys hit up Bass Pro Shop. After, we were done we headed over the to Rainforest Cafe for a little snack before the party. Zach really enjoyed, but Ryan was a little scared of the thunderstorms. After our snack it was time to head to the birthday party.

The boys had so much fun seeing their friends and playing in the water. It was nice to get to see everyone, since the past couple of month have been so busy. The boys loved playing in the sandbox and pool. They even had a water balloon fight, where some of the "big" kids got involved and it was so funny to watch. We all had fun and hope that Sophie enjoys all her new toys and had a great birthday!

20 Weeks

We are finally half way there to meeting our baby girl!!! For a while it seemed to be going by so fast and then the boys got out of school and now it seems to be going by slow. But, we can finally start counting down the weeks to her arrival.

 So far I have gained about 10 pounds which I am OK with. I am just fearful about gaining as much as I did with Ryan, so I am trying to be good. I don't have any cravings just a weakness for cakes and brownies. I have been feeling her move for about a week or so now and last night Chris finally got to feel her. He was starting to get a little jealous about it I think. She is very active at all different times of the day, but thankful not so much at night.

We have slowly started to get girl things. I have acquired some girl clothes but in bigger sizes. I am waiting till August or September to go crazy shopping for newborn and 3 months clothes.

Other than that, not much else has changed. We are just slowly trying to get ready for her.

Happy Father's Day!!

This year for Father's Day we spent the weekend in El Campo. We have not spent a whole weekend in EC since the beginning of March. We had such a good time hanging out with everyone.

Saturday, my mom, Brittany and I went to Sugar Land for my cousin Allison's Bridal Shower. While we were gone the boys went to the tractor pull. They had such a great time seeing all the tractors. When got back from the shower the boys and been home BBQing and cooking. Uncle Andy had come over and took Ryan for his first tennis lesson. According to Ryan they had a good time. When they got back we just sat on the back porch just visiting. It was really nice to not have to be anywhere and to just hangout with each other.

On Sunday, we all got up and went to church. After church, we stopped by to visit Granny. Zach had been asking to go tell Granny hello, since we left New Braunfels on Friday. After Granny's we went home and ate left overs for lunch and then almost everyone laid down to nap. After naps, Travis and Brittany had to get heading back to Dallas and Corpus. Once we sent them off, we decided to all go bowling. We had so much fun. I am so mad I forgot my camera, because every time it was Zach's turn to bowl he had to wear his sunglasses. It was so cute and funny.

I have to say all in all this was one of the best weekends we have had in El Campo in a while. I hope that everyone had a good Father's Day as I think the Father's around our house did.

It's A.....

GIRL!!!!

Yesterday, I had a checkup and my anatomy scan. I am 18 weeks, so we are almost half way there. I have been anxious for the last couple of days waiting for this appointment to see what we were having. Chris and I had a bet going. He said "girl" and I said "boy." Well, I was wrong and could not be more happier. It is about time I not be the only girl in the house.

So how did we tell everyone??? Well, we had a pink carnation and an "It's a Girl" balloon sent to my mom's office. We then called my dad and told him if he wanted to know he would have to go there and see.

For Chris' parents, we made wait a while, because we were in San Antonio wait for a special gift to let the boys open to find out. The way we told his parents were we put a pink paper clip in an envelope to give to his dad. Why a paper clip? Well, supposedly every time one of us has a baby his dad pick a paper clip out of a cup and has never been wrong. Well, he picked a blue one, so we figured it would be cute to give him a pink one to let him know we was wrong.

As for the boys, we had a pink "Mo" blanket made for her and let the boys unwrap it. Each of the boys have a camo blanket. And when asking Ryan if he had a sister if she would have a "Mo" he said yes, but it had to be pink. Ryan was so excited to see the pink "Mo." He was said all along that he wanted a baby sister. Zach is excited, but is still on confused about being a big brother and having a little sister.

We are very excited to be having a girl and can not wait to meet her.

Oh and we have a name... MaKinley Paige Smith

Welcome Home Uncle Bryan!!!

So it was almost a year to the day exactly since we said goodbye to "Uncle" Bryan, who left for Afghanistan. We were so happy to have him home and glad that he finally made it home.

It is so funny how the army is in a hurry to send you off, but to get you home they just take their sweet time. Bryan was suppose to be home Tuesday evening. But was the day got closer the time changed so many times till finally it was confirmed that he would be home on Thursday about 10 o'clock in the morning. We had to get up and leave New Braunfels to make it to Killeen by 7:30 am to drop off some of Bryan's stuff at a buddy's house. After we dropped off his stuff we head to get our passes to get on base. Once we had our passes we had some time to kill so we took the boys to the museum on base. The boys loved seeing all the helicopters and tanks.

After the museum it was time to head on over the field where we would be welcoming all our troops home. I have never been to a welcome home ceremony, so it was really cool to see all the balloon and posters. They also had a DJ, so while we were waiting for the buses to arrive daddy and Zach did so dancing to the "Chicken Dance." Finally, the buses arrived and it was so good to see Uncle Bryan. I am so glad that are troops are home safe and they do not have to go back for a while.
