Last December Nana and Papo we selected to be their local councils Family of the Year for the Knights of Columbus, which then made them eligible for the State Family of the Year for the whole state of Texas.
After submitting all the paper work about their involvement with the church and the K of C's they were selected to be the State Family of the Year!!!
So last weekend we all traveled to Dallas to the State Convention were we as a big whole family would be rewarded as State Family of the Year during their annual banquet. It was a really neat experience and the kids behaved really well, for as long as they were there.
After we received our award my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ron, who live up in Plano, were nice enough to come meet us at the hotel and take the kids back up to the room to play and hang out, so Chris and I could enjoy the rest of the banquet with our family.
Since, Nana and Papo were awarded Family of the Year for the State, they are now up for the Family of the Year award for the whole United States. I am not sure what the chances are of winning, but I think it is awesome to just be up for it.
