A Trip to Dallas

Last week, Daddy had to go to Dallas for a welding class, so the boys and I decided to tag along and have a mini getaway. Our hotel was on the south end of DFW so we got to see all the planes coming and going. The boys loved it.

We got to Dallas on Tuesday evening and decided to just order a pizza and go for a swim at the hotel. At our dinner and swim. It was time for bed, since we all had to get up early so we could take Daddy to his class.

On Wednesday, after dropping Daddy off at his class we headed back to the hotel for breakfast and to get ready for the day. One of the things the boys really wanted to do was go watch the airplanes. As we set off to find a spot to watch them. I noticed a sign that said Founder Plaza Airport Observation Area, so we decided to check it out. Boy, was it the perfect spot. It was on the north end of DFW and they had picnic tables with shade and a speaker where you could listen to traffic control. The boys loved it. They could get out and run around and watch the big airplanes.

After the airport, we headed up to Grapevine to go to the Aquarium. The boys loved it and enjoyed looking at all the fish and sharks. Right next to the Aquarium was Lego Land and Ryan really wanted to go there, but Daddy said earlier that we could not go with out him. So we had to save that for another trip.

After the Aquarium, we headed back to the airport for a little bit and then it was time to go get Daddy and take him to see the awesome spot we found to watch airplanes. While we were watching the airplane we got to see the airport firetrucks. Apparently, they had a bomb threat on one of the airplanes at the airport.

That evening we went and picked up Uncle Travis and went to the Magic Time Machine to have dinner. It was a very unique experience. The boys really loved their magic drinks and seeing all the characters. After dinner, we dropped Uncle Travis back off and headed back to the hotel for bed.

On Thursday, Daddy had class again and the boys and I hung out at the hotel for a while before we had to check out. After we checked out we ran a couple place that we don't have in New Braunfels and then watched more airplanes and played at McDonald's before getting Daddy and heading home.

On our way home we stopped in Temple to eat at Jody's and surprise my friend Nikki who I just to work with and had not seen in a while. She was so glad to see the boys and us. After dinner, we hit the road again to get home. So we could sleep and get ready for our weekend at the bay.
