Last Sunday, Ryan had his cub scout pinewood derby race. Him and Chris had spent lots of time discussing and planning what he wanted his car to look like. Ryan decided that he wanted an Army hummer. So after much searching they found a design they likes and went to work making a block of wood into a car.
He had such a great time getting to use his daddy's tools to cut, sand, and shape the car.
The race was held at the local KC hall. He had fun checking in his car and weighing it in. Then while we wait for the race to begin he did a craft for his car and played with his cub scout buddies. They did the best out of three races. The first race Ryan set a new speed record. But the second and third race he did not do so hot. Ryan ended up being 4th over all and 5th in his group. While, he did not win he had fun making his car with his dad and racing it against his buddies!!!
