With the beginning of school it also means the beginning of soccer. This fall both boys are playing. We have practice 2 different nights a week and then both boys have games on Saturday mornings.
Zachary is playing in the U5 league. It is so cute to watch him and his team practice and even play. His team has some real go getters and then we also have those who like to just run with the crowd. At this point, Zach just likes to run after the ball, but not really get in there and get it from the other team. But, I know that in time he will figure out the game.
Ryan is playing in the U7 league. He moved up this year as far as field size and how many team members he has. They now play 4 on a field at a time and instead of the coaches refereeing, they have real referees. It is amazing to see how much his team has come since spring. He is still playing with the same group of boys from Spring soccer and then they have 3 new guys.
It is very different to watch one of Zach's game and then to watch one of Ryan's. When I watch Zach's team play it reminds me exactly of Ryan's team at the age. So to see Ryan's team now, it is amazing to see how far he has come in 2 years. It is also reassuring to know that Zach's team will also get there and that right now it is just all fun for them.
