Our 4th of July was a busy one!! We started out the day with attending the annual 4th of July parade downtown. We made our usual stop for donuts and then headed to meet up with Aunt Sarah and Grant. The kids had a great time watching the parade and listening to the music.
After the parade, we headed home to start prepping the food for our afternoon get together with family. It is so nice having a big enough house now to have family over and host holidays.
Around 2 o'clock we decided head over to the airport to welcome home a local fallen Marine who was killed in the line of duty. I have to say that it was one of the most touching things I have ever seen. There was definitely over a thousand motorcycles of veterans and those who choose to come out and lead the procession of the fallen solider. It was a great way to show tribute to this solider on the special holiday.
When we got back to the house Uncle Travis and Aunt Brittany had finally arrived. Soon our little party got under way. The kids loved playing on the slip and slide. Even Uncle Travis and Aunt Brittany got in on the action. Grandma, Pawpaw, and Uncle Timmy came too. We all had a great time visiting!!
Around 7:30ish we head over to Juan and Tonja's house to watch the fireworks with them like we do every year. The kids look forward to going over there every year to see their friends and watch the awesome fireworks, put on in New Braunfels.
Like I said, we had a very busy 4th of July, but are so blessed to have our freedom and get to spend it with the ones we love.
