We left Friday after he got off of work and his mom made it to the house. We had reservation at at the Chart House restaurant at the Tower of the Americas. The view and food were super yummy.
After dinner we headed to our hotel by the airport. We didn't stay on the river walk, because we knew it would be crowded with people in to see George Strait. We thought about going out, but by the time we were done with dinner it was late and we knew that Saturday was going to be a long day.
Saturday we slept in the best we could, darn internal alarm clock. Once we were ready for the day, we headed out to get some breakfast. We decided even though we live close to San Antonio we never really explore it, so we decided to play tourist and headed to Lulu's Bakery & Cafe, a restaurant that has been on the Food Channel and is known for it's 5 pound cinnamon roll. The food was super yummy and we got one of the cinnamon rolls to go to take home to the boys.
After eating it was about noon. So we decided to head over to the Alamo Dome to park, because we heard the parking was going to be crazy. Once we parked we walked around to do some pre-concert stuff and the headed over to Sunset Station where they were having a George Fest party. We signed up to meet Miranda backstage and also get bumped up to first row seats. Unfortunately we didn't win either. After that we walked over to the River Center Mall to get me a new watch, but did not find any we liked.
We then headed back to Sunset Station to listen to music and enjoy some drinks. After a couple of drinks it was nice to kind of relax. We don't drink very often because we always have the kids and who wants to get up at 7 o'clock in the morning with a hang over. Not Me!!!
Anyways, once we relaxed a little it was nice to enjoy the rest of the afternoon till it was time to go in and get our seats.
After going inside and finding our seats.Which were totally awesome. Chris found his way to get us some drink and snacks as we waited for the concert to begin. All I have to say is that is was a totally awesome concert and one we will remember for a long time. Martina, Miranda and George all did an awesome job!! George played a lot of old songs as well as some new ones. I have been to several George concerts in the past and this is by far the best one.
After the concert we headed back to the truck thinking it was going to be easy getting out since we had parked right by a gate. Wrong!! The gate to go out was on the other side of the parking lot and there was no one directing traffic. I think it took about 45 mins to get out of the parking lot. Once we were out we headed back to hotel for some shut eye and to hopefully sleep in since we had to go home the next morning.
