I had bought a gingerbread house a while back, but we had not had a chance to make it. So that morning was the perfect time. I have a love hate relationship with Gingerbread houses. They never want to build as easy as it looks. This year we did things a little different. I built the house and then we let is dry for about an hour before we decorated it. While it did give me some trouble building the house, it worked out much better for decorating it.
The kids had a blast putting their own ideas into the house. I let them each take turns decorating a section of the house. I love how they all have their own different ideas of how things should look. I have to say that I am very impressed by their imagination and creativity. And the house turned out looking very cute.
Later that day we attend Christmas Eve mass at Sts. Peter and Paul and then after mass we went to dinner with Grandma, Pawpaw and Uncle Timmy to Mamacita's. It was a nice dinner and we were joined by Grammie and one of her friends also.
After dinner it was time to head home and open presents from Mommy and Daddy. Every year we give the kids their Christmas Pajamas. The older ones have come to know that is what they get, but the don't know what they will look like from year to year.
