Let the makeover begin!

A while back, Chris and I started talking about what to do with the boys room. We really wanted to start getting some of their toys out of the living room and since they share a room we decided that bunk beds were the way to go. I started looking online at beds and the cost for bedroom sets. Then I remember that my cousins in Sugarland had bunk beds when they were younger. So I called up my aunt and thankfully she still had them. After talking with my uncle, she said we could have them. I am so gratefully for that. With just one income, we really budget our money and by not having to buy furniture we could give the boys room a makeover. Let the makeover begin!!! I had found some really cute transportation bedding for the boys room, so once it came in we headed to Home Depot to match colors and get paint. I am so excited to finally give the boys and actually boy room. As you can tell from the pics the color of the walls are not really fun and at all. Here are the before pics.
We decided to install a chair rail, so when we got home we had to measure and tape off the wall. I must say I hate the prep work. I am one of those who like to get right to the point of the project. After we were done taping off the room we started painting. I must say I am in love with the colors. They match the bedding perfectly.
Ryan helping paint. He loves to help in every project we do.
Here is what the top half looked like when we were done. I can not believe what a difference paint can make to a room.
While we were painting the room we had the baby gate up to keep the boys from coming in. Here is a pic of Zach standing at the door wanting in.
Here is Ry. He know how to climb over. So keeping him out was a little more difficult. He had to know what was going on the whole time.
Here is the room with both colors up. I can't wait to put the chair rail up and the crown molding. This room is going to be so completely different.
That night the boys slept in our room. I will be so glad when they can have there room back. It was a very long night.
