Artic weather in Texas!!

I love cold weather. I love to bundle up in cute clothes to go out and I love to snuggle up in warm pj's under a blanket and watch a good movie. What I don't love about cold weather is pipes freezing, no hot water, and the heater going out. Yep, that is how are week has been with this cold Texas weather. So lets start at the beginning. Wednesday morning we woke up about 2 to let the dogs potty and Chris realized we had no water. Even though we had wrapped the pipes, up a heat lamp in the pump house and closed it up and dripped the faucets. So that morning we had to call the well people to come check it out. One of the pipes in the pump house froze up. Thankfully, they were able to defrost it and we had water. I was so glad, cause I really need to shower. But soon discovered that when the pipe froze, so did the pipe in the wall of the house to the hot water heaters. So we had no hot water. Thankfully that evening after dinner we went to Chris parent's house to bath the boy and I got in a quick shower. Thrusday was pretty uneventful except for preparing for the snow that was to come. Friday morning we woke up to snow on the ground. The boys had a blast playing in it. There was only about a 1/2 inch or so and it was so powdery that we could not even make snowballs or a snowman. But the boys had fun just playing outside in it. That night Chris parent's watched the boys so Chris and I could go out to dinner with some friends. We had a very nice time and really needed it. Saturday morning, I woke up about 6 to go to the bathroom and realized it was super cold in the house. I look at the thermastat and it was 63 degrees in the house and the heater was set on 72. My first thought was we ran out of propane, but we had just had it filled. So then I thought, great just great the heat broke. Thankfully we had an electric heater on a stand in the boys room, so there room never got cold. Chris got up and went in the attic and discovered that the ceramic coil that heats to turn the heater on was broke. I was so thankful, that was the only problem. So by yesterday afternoon, we had heat again and enjoyed a day of just family time. Here are some pics of the snow we got. You can see that is was not very thick, but the boys loved it anyway.
